Artist talk: Liu Shiyuan
Join us for an artist talk with visual artist Liu Shiyuan in a conversation with the chief curator at GL STRAND, Anne Kielgast.
thursday
02.02.23
kl. 17:00 - 18:00
Visual artist Liu Shiyuan (b. 1985) works between Beijing and Copenhagen. Her practice spans multiple media, including photography, video, text and installation. By eliminating preconceptions and subjective value judgments, she seeks to detach herself from the subjects of her works; instead, she examines how images shape stereotypes, how they convey propaganda, and how pop culture impact our way of creating standards of value.
In the week leading up to the artist talk, you can experience Liu’s video works For the photos I didn’t take, For the stories I didn’t read and Isolated abone, connected below in Reading Room — a temporary pop up installation in GL STRAND by Tofu Collective.
Come visit and experience her works before hand — and join us when she will unfold her artistic practice and show another two works — A sudden zone and Best friends forever — in this artist talk with cheif curator in GL STRAND, Anne Kielgast.
The conversation will be held in English.
Admission to the event costs DKK 50 / Free for members.
The price includes admission to the exhibition.
