Book Launch: Building Stories by Alastair Philip Wiper

Join us at GL STRAND for the Book Launch of British photographer Alastair Philip Wiper’s new book Building Stories

thursday

05.10.23

kl. 17:00 - 20:00

Building Stories is published by the Danish Architectural Press and unveils the hidden narratives within the world of architecture. With his hyper realistic and cinematic photos, Wiper invites the viewer inside a world where buildings take on distinct personalities, each with its own fascinating story. From nuclear test sites to the childhood home of Steve Jobs and the toilet of a deceased Albanian dictator, Wiper’s photos create an evocative atmosphere with his unique understanding of lines and symmetry, color and contrast.

Alastair Philip Wiper has produced several books, including Unintended Beauty (Hatje Cantz, 2020) and The Art of Impossible (Thames & Hudson, 2015) and his work is regularly featured in publications such as Wired, Vice, Scientific American and The Guardian. His prints are also included in the collections of institutions such as the Design Museum in London, the Royal Institute of British Architects and Bank Vontobel in Zürich.

The bar is open and there will be free beer. Join us for the launch and experience Wiper’s universe with your own eyes and enjoy a cold one at the bar.

It will be possible to purchase your own copy of Building Stories.

The current exhibitions ‘through the back side of my eyes’ by Tobias Rehberger and ‘Good Morning Midnight’ by Rachel Rose are open until 20.00 (entrance 50 DKK)

The Book Launch is free and open to anyone.
