Harmonies and flowing energies is the headline, when GL STRAND turns up for the Culture Night with a cornucopia of events for both old and young. The evening’s program is based on the two current exhibitions with Lee Lozano and Svend Sømod and offer guided tours, creative workshop, concert and an aesthetic-mathematical cocktail experience.
The creative workshop is inspired by Svend Sømods aesthetical investigation of mathematics, which forms a starting point for his exhibition Resonance and Harmonies. During the evening, you will be able to sculpt some of the mathematical base forms, the so-called platonic solids and to create geometric patterns. The workshop is open between 18:30 and 21:30
The current exhibitions with Lee Lozano and Svend Sømod are open for guests until midnight. You are also able to join a guided tour in the exhibitions at 19:00, 20:30 and 22:00, and get insight into the practices of the artists.
In addition to food and drinks, there will be served two special artistic experiences in the courtyard. In a concert with DJ Sexy Laser, the tones for the evening are set with inspiration from the Nordic landscape and the fluid energy currents of indie/electronica music. Simultaneously with the concert the audience is able to experience another piece by Svend Sømod – the Cocktail Printer. The audience can operate the Cocktail Printer, however it is the printer, that ultimately designs the actual drink. Svend Sømod has feed the computer in the Cocktail Printer with more than 5.000 cocktail recipes in advance, all of which are based on an algorithm, that Sømod has developed, these ensures a harmonious taste experience. The cocktail is served in a specially designed glass, which design rely on two mathematical base forms, that represents the essence of harmony: the cube and the circle. The cocktail can be enjoyed in furniture, also designed by the artist on the bases of mathematical equations. The Cocktail Printer was Sømods graduation project at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
Concert from 20:30 – 23:30 / Cocktail printer from 18:00 – 24:00
