Rachel Rose
Rachel Rose’s work examines the interconnection between landscape, storytelling and belief systems. Through her paintings, photographs, drawings and, most centrally, her films, Rose explores how landscapes have been transformed, violated, and built bringing to light questions about the roots of modernity and it’s effects on the social, physical and spiritual body. Through this, her work contends with the vulnerability inherent in the existentially precarious reality of living through environmental collapse.
Rachel Rose (b. 1986) lives and works in New York Ciy. In 2017 she was part of the Venice Biennale as well as she has exhibited at prominent venues such as Palais de Tokyo in Paris and Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia, the Serpentine Galleries in London and the Whitney Museum of American art in New York, amongst others.
Good Morning Midnight will be on view in GL STRAND 24 August – 22 Oktober 2023.
