Svend Sømod
Resonance & Harmony
Senses and exhibition architecture are challenged and sound and light are used in surprising ways when the young Danish artist Svend Sømod (b.1992) opens his solo exhibition at GL STRAND. Sømod is interested in translating theoretical mathematical information into aesthetic sensory form, and this is often done in subtle ways, as is the case with Resonance & Harmony, which consists of two audiovisual installations based on the play between these two concepts. The installations both take their point of departure in algorithm-based compositions created by Svend Sømod and produce a kind of music.
Svend Sømod (b. 1992) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Art in 2021. He works across disciplines and has an impressive number of collaborations and projects behind him including interior decorations, art exhibitions, and cocktail projects. Sømod is interested in challenging the senses in ways where the work offers a context or in which other experiences – bodily, social, or mental – can unfold.
